We’re delighted to take such an active role in The Future Leaders of Nottingham both as participants and by playing a key role in shaping its ongoing success.
Established by Nottingham City Council in partnership with the Renewal Trust and Communities Inc, The Future Leaders of Nottingham is a city-wide positive action initiative. It encourages participation from under-represented groups and focuses on addressing the need for greater diversity at senior and board level roles.
Our Chief Executive, John Yarham, supports Futures’ involvement as it strongly reflects our core values, particularly our commitment to support the development of staff.
Liz Walters, Futures’ Professional Development Manager, assesses the ongoing the effectiveness of the programme. She believes that as well as encouraging diversity and social mobility among Nottingham’s senior leaders, a crucial element of the programme is the skills and confidence it develops in the individuals who take part.
Earlier this year we were rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, in part for the quality of our leadership and management. As such we are always keen to support our staff to develop in their roles. We are thrilled that two of our colleagues aspire to become Nottingham’s future leaders who will gain the skills and experience needed for senior management and Board level positions.
Ashreen Seethal (Careers Inspiration Manager, Schools) and Sarah Bull (Careers Inspiration Manager, In-custody), are participating this year, alongside colleagues from other Nottingham-based organisations such as Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, local health service providers and Nottingham City Homes.
